Welcome to the Bookamer Family Farm
We can't wait to meet you!
Welcome to the Thomas and Linda Bookamer Family Farm, an eco-agri-tourism experience for your entire family or group. Commonly referred to as a "Circle Farm", here you will see how all our animals work with the land to provide for the needs of the caretakers and to eliminate the word "waste".
Our farm is the perfect place to come and unwind for a spell. Enjoy a tracked machine ride around the farm to learn of its uniqueness and join the family in the barn for chores, if you please. Our farm is an educational working farm and so a learning atmosphere is always encouraged. Come and enjoy the "down home" way of living and do some serious relaxing.
Please explore our website to learn of all the wonders that nature has to offer in a chemical-free environment. To visit our family farm, arrange for a tour, sign-up for a class, or to inquire about our Farm Cottage Stays, please use this form or contact us at bookamers@bookamerfamilyfarm.com.

Christmas New Years
The Bookamer Family Farm is a Circle Farm where all animals, plants, land and caretakers work together for a farm eco-system that uses each other to the benefit and well being of the whole. We use the animals for not only the products that they produce, but also in the protection of each other. We use them for fertilization (composting manure and also rotational pasturing) of land and plants, and for the reduction of pests. Each working for, and with, each other. Waste is created by not knowing the next use for something. With wisdom and knowledge, we can learn to keep waste to a minimum. We have a composting outhouse for our tour guests to use and to show how even their own waste can be used in a productive and safe manner. Come learn some old and/or new wisdoms (also share some) so we can help our world become cleaner, greener, and less wasteful.
The caretakers of our Circle Farm are the Thomas Bookamer family. "Pa" and 'Ma", (Tom and Linda) are overseers to the farm's heartbeat, the children. The family's six children are both the doers and dreamers. The three eldest, our daughters, are inspiration. Billie, Maxine and Michael are the heart in our family farm. The three younger, our sons, are determination and perspiration. Tom, Ted and Jesse are always ready to make the idea come to life. Their unique ability to feel the needs of the land, its plants and animals, combined with the desire to learn how to best fill that need in a way that benefits the whole, makes the circle farm one with a lot of feeling. We invite you to come share some time on the land and let us show you ways to not only hear from it, but also to do some little changes to help it.
Down On The Farm
We offer educational tours to families, schools, organizations, etc. by reservation. It is a 2½ hour tour of our circle farm with discussions on the concepts of the circle farm, talks of animal husbandry (the care, housing, nutrition, and needs of the animals), uses of the animal's products, and also composting of manure for fertilization, etc..
Come to the farm and meet our personable animal friends and learn the difference between a "milk" cow and a "beef" cow. Meet our chicken friends, the "McNuggets" and "Egg McMuffins", and learn that even though they are all chickens, there is a big difference! Feel the difference between sheep wool, alpaca fleece, cashmere on goats and our silly angora bunny "Vern's" fur. Enjoy the "Drama Queen" piggy girlfriend and her "Let's make it about me!" attitude. Ride on the nature track machine down into the hollow for your private tour or take your group on a "see the farm" hay ride and enjoy the beauty only nature has to offer. Learn what you can do to help our earth do what she does best; raise for you the best food and fiber you could ever imagine. With your careful eye to her calling and a listening heart to her needs, your piece of "Mother Earth" can be seen and enjoyed as the awesome and life sustaining gift it was always meant to be. Come to the "Circle Farm" to learn and to enjoy the peace that can be found in a balanced way of living. Whether it be for a night or more stay, tour of the farm, attending one of our "natural learning" classes, coming for your own farm fresh milk, enjoying the "in season" nature raised produce, or taking home some fresh baked "Simple ingredients, simply made" breads, coming "HOME TO THE FARM", could never get any better.
